Since he spouted the excellence of movies that run beneath an hour and thirty minutes on SNL, we’ve been waiting around for Simon Rex to star in his have shorter-ass movie. Purple Rocket clocks in at two hours and 8 minutes—but we held out hope for a film that would hit that short, sweet, and snappy standards. It’s possible the time is nigh, as Deadline reports Rex has joined the comedy movie Providence, along with Uzo Aduba (Mrs. The usa), and Jim Gaffigan.
Tim Blake Nelson (O Brother, The place Art Thou), José María Yazpik (Polvo), Nina Arianda (Midnight In Paris), and Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy) have also signed on for the film. Beforehand introduced forged associates, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Tremendous Pumped), Lily James (Pam & Tommy), and Himesh Patel (Station Eleven) will guide the movie in mysterious roles.
For each a synopsis from Deadline, Providence follows the basic murder-thriller trope of an idealistic town that is not as awesome as it would seem. The film centers all over “the eclectic inhabitants of a smaller, picturesque island who must navigate a sensational murder and the discovery of a million dollars as a sequence of increasingly undesirable choices upends the as soon as-peaceful group.”
Not one to shy away from employing a mysterious bag of revenue as plot product, Potsy Ponciroli will be directing the film with Michael Vukadinovich creating the script.
Government producers for Providence will be Vukadinovich, Tyler Zacharia, Sam Slater, Phil Keefe, Kevin Brennan, and Dane Eckerle. CJ Barbato will sign up for as co-producer.
Despite the fact that there is no news on Rex, Aduba, and Gaffigan’s roles in the movie, we’re heading to bet that we’ll see them as wacky townspeople. Perhaps they’ll even get in on solving the murder-mystery, or… possibly even they are even the murderers on their own. We’ll have to see!
